Ingredients

  • 1 cup Unsweetened, Plain Greek Yogurt
  • 1/2 cup Unsweetened, Natural Peanut Butter Ensure it contains only peanuts (and perhaps a touch of salt). Avoid xylitol.
  • 1 ripe Banana mashed
  • 1/4 cup Whole Wheat Flour or oat flour for a gluten-free option
  • 1/2 teaspoon Cinnamon optional

Equipment

  • Mixing bowl
  • Silicone Ice Cube Tray
  • Muffin tins
  • Pet-specific Treat Molds

Method

  1. In a medium-sized mixing bowl, thoroughly combine the Greek yogurt, mashed banana, and natural peanut butter until smooth and well-blended.
1 cup Unsweetened, Plain Greek Yogurt, 1/2 cup Unsweetened, Natural Peanut Butter, 1 ripe Banana
  2. Gradually incorporate the whole wheat flour (or oat flour) and optional cinnamon into the wet mixture. Stir until a thick, dough-like consistency forms. If the mixture is too sticky, add a tablespoon more flour at a time until it's manageable.
1/4 cup Whole Wheat Flour, 1/2 teaspoon Cinnamon
  3. Spoon the mixture into your desired mold. Silicone ice cube trays, small muffin tins, or even small pet-specific treat molds work perfectly. Ensure you don’t overfill them.
  4. Place the filled molds into the freezer and allow the treats to freeze completely. This typically takes at least 2-3 hours, depending on the size of your molds and your freezer’s temperature.
  5. Once frozen solid, carefully pop the treats out of the molds. You can offer one to your dog immediately as a refreshing, cool snack!

Notes

Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 5-7 days or in the freezer for up to 2-3 months. Serve from frozen or chilled. Moderation is key when feeding.
