Method
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or lightly grease it.
- In a medium bowl, mash the ripe banana until smooth. Add the natural peanut butter and whisk in the egg and unsweetened applesauce. Mix until well combined and creamy.1 Ripe Banana, 1/2 cup Natural Peanut Butter, 1 Egg, 1/4 cup Unsweetened Applesauce
- In a separate bowl, whisk together the whole wheat flour and baking powder.1 cup Whole Wheat Flour, 1 teaspoon Baking Powder
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until a sticky dough forms. If the dough is too wet, add a tablespoon more flour at a time. If too dry, add a teaspoon of water or applesauce.
- Drop rounded tablespoons of dough onto the prepared baking sheet. You can gently flatten them with the back of a spoon or your fingers. For a "twist" effect, you can roll small portions of dough into ropes and twist them before placing them on the sheet.
- Bake for 15-20 minutes, or until the edges are lightly golden brown and the treats feel firm to the touch.
- Remove from the oven and let them cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely. Ensure they are fully cooled before offering them to your dog.
- Once completely cooled, store the peanut butter banana twist dog treats in an airtight container.
Notes
