Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup Natural Peanut Butter (Xylitol-free) Ensure it's pure peanut butter with no added sugars or the sweetener xylitol, which is toxic to dogs.
  • 1/4 cup Plain Yogurt (unsweetened, probiotic-rich) Look for brands without artificial sweeteners or flavors.
  • 1 tablespoon Water (or unsweetened applesauce) Helps achieve the perfect smooth consistency for easy spreading and licking. Applesauce can add a touch of sweetness and fiber.

Equipment

  • Small Bowl
  • Spoon or small whisk

Method

  1. In a small bowl, add the natural peanut butter and plain yogurt.
1/2 cup Natural Peanut Butter (Xylitol-free), 1/4 cup Plain Yogurt (unsweetened, probiotic-rich)
  2. Stir the ingredients together with a spoon or small whisk until they are well combined and begin to form a smooth paste.
  3. Gradually add water (or unsweetened applesauce), one teaspoon at a time, while continuing to stir. Aim for a thick but spreadable consistency – not too runny, so it doesn't drip off the treats.
1 tablespoon Water (or unsweetened applesauce)
  4. Once the desired texture is achieved, the icing is ready to be generously spread or drizzled onto your dog's favorite homemade treats.

Notes

This icing is intended as a special occasion topper or frosting for dog treats, not as a primary meal. Moderation is key when serving.
