Method
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper. This prevents sticking and ensures easy cleanup.
- In a microwave-safe bowl, gently melt the coconut oil. Stir in the unsweetened peanut butter and honey until well combined and smooth. Be careful not to overheat the mixture.¼ cup Coconut Oil (Unrefined, Virgin), ½ cup Unsweetened Peanut Butter, 1 Tablespoon Honey (Raw, Local Preferred)
- In a separate mixing bowl, whisk together the gluten-free oat flour and turmeric powder until evenly distributed. This ensures the turmeric is consistently mixed throughout the treats.1 cup Gluten-Free Oat Flour, 1 Tablespoon Turmeric Powder
- Gradually add the wet ingredient mixture to the dry ingredients. Mix until a sticky dough forms. You may need to add a few more drops of water if the dough is too dry, or a little more oat flour if it's too wet.½ cup Water
- On a lightly floured surface (using oat flour), roll out the dough to about ¼-inch thickness. Use your favorite small dog treat cutters or a knife to cut out desired shapes.1 cup Gluten-Free Oat Flour
- Place the shaped treats onto the prepared baking sheet. Bake for 15-20 minutes, or until the edges are lightly golden brown and the treats are firm to the touch. The cooking time will depend on the thickness of your treats.
- Allow the treats to cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely. This is crucial for their texture and to prevent premature spoilage.
