Method
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Lightly grease a pizza pan or a large baking sheet.
- Open the tube of sugar cookie dough and press it evenly onto the prepared pizza pan or baking sheet, forming a crust approximately 1/4 inch thick. You can also press it up slightly along the edges to create a small rim.1 16.5 oz Pre-made sugar cookie dough tube
- Place the pizza pan in the preheated oven and bake for 10-15 minutes, or until the edges are golden brown and the center is set. Keep a close eye on it to prevent overbaking.
- Once baked, remove the cookie crust from the oven and let it cool completely on the pan. This is important before adding the frosting so it doesn't melt.
- While the cookie crust is cooling, in a medium bowl, beat together the softened cream cheese and powdered sugar until smooth and creamy. Stir in the vanilla extract.1/2 cup Cream cheese, 1/4 cup Powdered sugar, 1 teaspoon Vanilla extract
- Once the cookie crust is completely cool, spread the cream cheese frosting evenly over the entire surface, going almost to the edges.
- Spoon the canned cherry pie filling over the cream cheese frosting, spreading it out gently. You can leave some frosting peeking through for a lovely marbled effect.1 21 oz can Cherry pie filling
- For the best flavor and texture, cover the dessert pizza and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes before slicing and serving.
- Just before serving, you can add a dollop of whipped cream, a drizzle of melted chocolate, or a sprinkle of chopped nuts if desired.Whipped cream, Chocolate drizzle, Chopped nuts
