Ingredients
  

  • 1 cup canned pumpkin pure pumpkin, not pie filling, cooked and mashed
  • 1/2 cup plain Greek yogurt unsweetened, mashed or blended, ensure no xylitol
  • 2 cups whole wheat flour or oat flour for a grain-free option, uncooked
  • 1 egg uncooked
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon uncooked

Method
 

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a large bowl, combine the canned pumpkin and plain Greek yogurt. Mix until thoroughly combined and smooth.

  3. Add the egg and cinnamon to the pumpkin and yogurt mixture. Stir well until everything is incorporated.

  4. Gradually add the whole wheat flour (or oat flour), mixing until a soft dough forms. It should be slightly sticky but manageable.

  5. Lightly flour a clean surface and turn the dough out onto it. Gently knead the dough a few times until it comes together.
  6. Roll out the dough to about 1/2 inch thickness. Use cookie cutters to create your desired treat shapes.
  7. Place the cut-out treats onto the prepared baking sheet, leaving a little space between each one.
  8. Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until the edges are firm and the treats are cooked through. They should feel firm to the touch.
  9. Let the treats cool completely on a wire rack before serving them to your dog.

Notes

Store in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 5-7 days. Freeze for up to 2-3 months.
