Method
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and prepare a baking sheet by lining it with parchment paper.
- In a large bowl, combine 1 cup of pumpkin puree, 1/2 cup of peanut butter, and 1 egg. Mix thoroughly until well blended.1 cup Pumpkin Puree, 1/2 cup Peanut Butter, 1 Egg
- Gradually add 1 cup of whole wheat flour (or oat flour) and 1/2 cup of rolled oats to the wet mixture. Stir until a soft dough forms.1 cup Whole Wheat Flour, 1/2 cup Rolled Oats
- Roll small portions of the dough into bite-sized balls, about 1 inch in diameter. If the dough is too sticky, lightly dust your hands with a little extra flour.
- Place the rolled balls onto the prepared baking sheet. You can gently press them down with a fork to flatten them slightly.
- Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until the edges are golden brown and the treats are firm to the touch.
- Remove the baking sheet from the oven and let the pumpkin oat peanut butter dog treats cool completely on a wire rack.
Notes
Store cooled treats in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 5 days. For longer storage, freeze for up to 2-3 months.
