Ingredients

  • 1 cup Pumpkin Puree Ensure it's 100% pure pumpkin, not pumpkin pie filling.
  • 1/2 cup Peanut Butter Choose natural, unsalted peanut butter with no added sugar or xylitol.
  • 1/4 cup Water
  • 1 cup Whole Wheat Flour or oat flour for gluten-sensitive pups
  • 1/2 cup Rolled Oats
  • 1 Egg

Equipment

  • - Baking Sheet
  • - Parchment Paper
  • Wire rack

Method

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and prepare a baking sheet by lining it with parchment paper.
  2. In a large bowl, combine 1 cup of pumpkin puree, 1/2 cup of peanut butter, and 1 egg. Mix thoroughly until well blended.
1 cup Pumpkin Puree, 1/2 cup Peanut Butter, 1 Egg
  3. Gradually add 1 cup of whole wheat flour (or oat flour) and 1/2 cup of rolled oats to the wet mixture. Stir until a soft dough forms.
1 cup Whole Wheat Flour, 1/2 cup Rolled Oats
  4. Roll small portions of the dough into bite-sized balls, about 1 inch in diameter. If the dough is too sticky, lightly dust your hands with a little extra flour.
  5. Place the rolled balls onto the prepared baking sheet. You can gently press them down with a fork to flatten them slightly.
  6. Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until the edges are golden brown and the treats are firm to the touch.
  7. Remove the baking sheet from the oven and let the pumpkin oat peanut butter dog treats cool completely on a wire rack.

Notes

Store cooled treats in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 5 days. For longer storage, freeze for up to 2-3 months.
