Ingredients

  • 1 cup Plain, Unsweetened Yogurt Mashed or blended smoothly
  • 1/2 cup Unsweetened Applesauce Mashed or pureed
  • 1-2 Tablespoons Natural Peanut Butter (Xylitol-Free) Smooth or chunky. MUST be xylitol-free.
  • 1/4 cup Water or Unsweetened Coconut Milk Optional. To adjust consistency.

Equipment

  • Blender
  • Medium Bowl
  • Ice cube trays
  • Silicone molds
  • Small, dog-safe paper cups
  • Freezer-safe bag or container

Method

  1. Combine the plain yogurt, unsweetened applesauce, and xylitol-free peanut butter in a blender or a medium bowl. If using, add a splash of water or unsweetened coconut milk for a smoother blend.
1 cup Plain, Unsweetened Yogurt, 1/2 cup Unsweetened Applesauce, 1-2 Tablespoons Natural Peanut Butter (Xylitol-Free), 1/4 cup Water or Unsweetened Coconut Milk
  2. Blend until smooth: Process on high speed in the blender for about 30-60 seconds, or whisk vigorously in the bowl until all ingredients are thoroughly combined and achieve a creamy, uniform consistency.
  3. Pour into molds: Carefully pour the mixture into ice cube trays, silicone molds (shaped like bones or paws, if you have them!), or even small, dog-safe paper cups. Fill them to about ¾ full to allow for expansion when freezing.
  4. Freeze until solid: Place the filled molds in the freezer for at least 4-6 hours, or until the puppuccinos are completely firm and frozen.

Notes

Serve as an occasional treat. Serving sizes vary by dog size. Store unfrozen mixture in the refrigerator for up to 2-3 days. Frozen treats last 2-3 months. No reheating needed.
