Ingredients

Tea Base
  • 2 cups Water
  • 2 bags High-quality Earl Grey Tea
  • 1 tablespoon Sugar (adjust to taste) Or sweetener of choice
Flavor & Milk
  • 1/4 cup Cherry Syrup (e.g., Torani or homemade) Adjust for sweetness preference
  • 1/2 cup Milk Whole milk, almond, or oat work well
  • 1 cup Ice cubes
Garnish (Optional)
  • 4 Fresh or Maraschino Cherries For topping

Method

Instructions
  1. Brew the Tea: Bring 2 cups of water to a boil. Remove from heat and steep the 2 Earl Grey tea bags for 5 minutes. Do not over-steep to avoid bitterness.
  2. Sweeten the Tea: While the tea is still hot, stir in the tablespoon of sugar until fully dissolved. Remove the tea bags.
  3. Chill: Allow the brewed tea to cool slightly, then transfer it to the refrigerator or pour over half of the ice cubes to achieve a quick chill.
  4. Assemble the Milk Tea: In two tall glasses, add the cherry syrup, dividing evenly between them.
  5. Combine: Fill both glasses completely with the remaining ice cubes. Pour the chilled Earl Grey tea over the ice, filling each glass about 3/4 full.
  6. Finish: Gently layer the milk on top of the tea mixture. Stir gently before drinking to combine flavors. Garnish with cherries if desired.

Notes

For a stronger tea flavor, increase the tea bags to three. If using fresh cherries, muddle a few at the bottom of the serving glass before adding syrup for extra depth.
