Method
- Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a large baking sheet with parchment paper for easy cleanup and to prevent sticking.
- In a large bowl, combine the trimmed green beans, olive oil, garlic powder, black pepper, and salt. Toss thoroughly until the green beans are evenly coated with the oil and seasonings. Ensure every bean has a light, consistent coating.1 pound fresh green beans, 2 tablespoons olive oil, 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder, 1/4 teaspoon black pepper, 1/2 teaspoon salt
- Arrange the seasoned green beans in a single layer on the prepared baking sheet. It’s crucial not to overcrowd the pan; this allows the green beans to roast and become crispy rather than steam. If necessary, use two baking sheets.
- Place the baking sheet in the preheated oven and roast for 10-12 minutes. During this time, the green beans will start to soften and develop a slight char.
- Remove the baking sheet from the oven. Sprinkle the finely grated Parmesan cheese evenly over the green beans. Toss them gently on the baking sheet to ensure the cheese adheres to as many beans as possible.1/4 cup finely grated Parmesan cheese
- Return the baking sheet to the oven and continue roasting for another 5-8 minutes, or until the green beans are tender-crisp and the Parmesan cheese is golden brown and slightly crispy. Keep a close eye on them during this stage, as cheese can burn quickly.
- Carefully remove the Roasted Parmesan Green Beans from the oven. If desired, garnish with a sprinkle of red pepper flakes for a touch of heat or some fresh chopped parsley for freshness. Serve hot as a delicious side dish.Red pepper flakes, fresh parsley, chopped
Notes
To store leftover Roasted Parmesan Green Beans, allow them to cool completely. Transfer to an airtight container and refrigerate for up to 3-4 days. Reheat in the oven or air fryer for best results.
