- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper for easy cleanup.
- Prepare the sausage: If your dog-safe smoked sausage is not pre-cooked, ensure it is thoroughly cooked according to package directions (or until an internal temperature of 165°F/74°C is reached). - Add the binders: In a bowl, combine the mashed cooked sweet potato and cooked rolled oats. Mix until well combined. Spoon small dollops of this mixture onto each sausage slice, forming a small "bites" or topping.1 cup sweet potato, ¼ cup rolled oats
- Add the cranberry: Gently place a small amount of unsweetened cranberry sauce on top of the sweet potato mixture on each sausage slice.½ cup unsweetened cranberry sauce
- Bake: Place the baking sheet in the preheated oven. Bake for 10-15 minutes, or until the edges of the sausage are slightly crisped and the sweet potato topping is heated through.
