  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper for easy cleanup.
  2. Prepare the sausage: If your dog-safe smoked sausage is not pre-cooked, ensure it is thoroughly cooked according to package directions (or until an internal temperature of 165°F/74°C is reached). Slice the sausage into ½-inch rounds.

  3. Assemble the bites: Arrange the sausage slices in a single layer on the prepared baking sheet.

  4. Add the binders: In a bowl, combine the mashed cooked sweet potato and cooked rolled oats. Mix until well combined. Spoon small dollops of this mixture onto each sausage slice, forming a small "bites" or topping.
