Instructions
- Prepare the shrimp: If using frozen shrimp, thaw them completely. Pat the cooked shrimp very dry with paper towels. Roughly chop about 2/3 of the shrimp and leave the remaining 1/3 whole for garnish.
- In a medium mixing bowl, combine the softened cream cheese, sour cream, and mayonnaise. Use a spatula or electric mixer to blend until smooth and fully incorporated.
- Stir in the Worcestershire sauce, lemon juice, hot sauce, and finely chopped fresh dill into the cream cheese mixture. Mix well to evenly distribute the seasonings.
- Gently fold in the chopped shrimp and the thinly sliced scallions. Mix just until everything is evenly distributed throughout the dip base.
- Transfer the shrimp dip to a serving bowl. Garnish the top of the dip with the reserved whole shrimp and a sprinkle of extra scallions or dill.
- Cover the dip and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes before serving to allow the flavors to meld. Serve chilled with crackers, tortilla chips, or fresh vegetable sticks.
Notes
For a richer flavor, you can add 1/2 teaspoon of Old Bay seasoning. This dip can be made up to 24 hours in advance and stored tightly covered in the refrigerator.
