Ingredients

  • 1 cup Whole Wheat Flour
  • ½ cup Rolled Oats (uncooked)
  • ½ cup Natural Peanut Butter (xylitol-free) ensure it is xylitol-free
  • 2 tablespoons Unsweetened Applesauce
  • 2 medium Ripe Bananas, mashed
  • 1 large Egg

Equipment

  • - Baking Sheet
  • - Parchment Paper
  • Medium Bowl
  • Large Bowl
  • Spoon or spatula
  • Wire rack

Method

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper to prevent sticking.
  2. In a medium bowl, thoroughly mash the ripe bananas until smooth. Add the natural peanut butter and unsweetened applesauce to the mashed banana and stir until well combined into a smooth mixture.

  4. In a separate large bowl, combine the whole wheat flour and uncooked rolled oats. Stir them together to distribute evenly.
1 cup Whole Wheat Flour, ½ cup Rolled Oats (uncooked)
  5. Gradually add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients, mixing with a spoon or spatula until a thick, slightly sticky dough forms. Don’t overmix; just ensure everything is combined.
  6. Take small portions of the dough (about a tablespoon each) and roll them into balls. Flatten each ball slightly with your palm to create a cookie shape. Alternatively, you can use a small cookie scoop. Place the formed treats onto the prepared baking sheet, leaving a little space between each one.
  7. Place the baking sheet in the preheated oven and bake for 12–15 minutes. The treats should be lightly golden around the edges and firm to the touch but still soft.
  8. Once baked, remove the baking sheet from the oven and let the treats cool completely on the baking sheet before transferring them to a wire rack to finish cooling. This step ensures they develop their soft, chewy texture and are safe for your dog to enjoy.

Notes
