- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Lightly grease an 8x8 inch baking dish or a shallow 9-inch pie dish. This will ensure your Spooky Halloween Buffalo Dip doesn't stick and makes for easier cleanup.
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the softened cream cheese, shredded chicken, buffalo wing sauce, and ranch dressing. Mix until all ingredients are thoroughly incorporated and the chicken is evenly coated. The mixture should be thick and creamy.1 (8-ounce) package cream cheese, 2 (10-ounce) cans cooked chicken, 1/2 cup buffalo wing sauce, 1/2 cup ranch dressing
- Stir in 1 cup of the shredded cheddar cheese and 1/2 cup of the shredded mozzarella cheese into the buffalo chicken mixture. Reserve the remaining cheese for the topping. This initial layer of cheese will melt into the dip, adding rich flavor and helping to bind everything together.1 1/2 cups shredded cheddar cheese, 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- Spoon the Spooky Halloween Buffalo Dip mixture evenly into your prepared baking dish. Spread it out to create a smooth, consistent layer.
- Sprinkle the remaining 1/2 cup of cheddar cheese and 1/2 cup of mozzarella cheese over the top of the dip. This will create a beautiful, melted, and bubbly cheese crust.1 1/2 cups shredded cheddar cheese, 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- Place the baking dish in the preheated oven and bake for 20-25 minutes, or until the dip is hot and bubbly around the edges, and the cheese on top is melted and lightly golden brown. If you want extra browning, you can set it under the broiler for the last 1-2 minutes, but watch it closely to prevent burning.
- Carefully remove the Spooky Halloween Buffalo Dip from the oven. If desired, garnish with chopped green onions. For a truly Spooky Halloween Buffalo Dip presentation, you can arrange black olive slices as spider bodies with thin strips of roasted red bell pepper for legs, or use pretzel sticks to create bone shapes. Serve immediately with your favorite dippers.1/4 cup chopped green onions, Optional Halloween Decorations: Black olive slices (for spider bodies), thin strips of roasted red bell pepper or pimento (for spider legs), pretzel sticks (for bones), tortilla chips cut into ghost shapes, or edible googly eyes.
Notes
You can prepare this dip up to a day in advance. Soften cream cheese for a smooth base. Use freshly grated cheese for a better melt.
