  • Hole puncher

Method

  1. Inflate your green, white, and gold balloons to various sizes. Don't overinflate, as this makes them prone to popping. Aim for a mix of small, medium, and large balloons to create visual interest.
Using a balloon strip or by tying them together in small clusters, begin to assemble your garland. Start by tying the necks of two balloons together, then add more balloons by twisting them through the already tied knots.
Vary the colors and sizes as you go, creating a flowing, organic shape. You can also strategically place clusters of mini-balloons in between larger ones.
Once your garland is the desired length, secure it with string or twine. Use Command hooks or temporary adhesive strips to hang it across doorways, mantels, or as a backdrop for your party photos.

  2. Cut your green, white, and gold streamers into varying lengths. It's best to have some longer for dramatic effect and some shorter for layering.
To create simple swags, starting at one end, loop the streamer and attach it to the wall or ceiling with tape at the highest point. Continue to create a graceful curve, attaching it again further down. Alternate colors for a vibrant look.
For streamer curtains, cut long lengths of streamers and tape them closely together along the top edge. Hang these across windows or as a dazzling focal point. You can even stagger the lengths to create a more textured effect.

  3. Carefully cut open the Lucky Charms cereal boxes. You can use the front, back, or sides, depending on the design you prefer.
Cut out various shapes from the cardboard – circles, squares, or even simple shamrock shapes using a stencil or freehand.
Now for the fun part! Liberally apply white craft glue to one side of your cardboard cutouts.
Sprinkle a generous amount of gold glitter (both fine and chunky) over the glued areas. Gently shake off any excess glitter. Let these dry completely.
Once dry, you can punch holes in the top corners of each decorated cutout and thread them onto your string or twine to create a festive garland. Alternatively, use double-sided tape to attach them directly to walls or hang them individually.

  4. On your green construction paper or cardstock, draw or stencil shamrock shapes of various sizes. Cut them out carefully.
For a bolder look, cut out shamrock shapes from gold cardstock as well. Layering green and gold shamrocks can add depth.
Apply craft glue to the edges or certain sections of your green cardstock shamrocks. Sprinkle with fine gold glitter for a subtle shimmer, or with chunky glitter for a more dramatic effect. Allow them to dry.
Use these glittered shamrocks to adorn your streamer curtains, stick them onto balloons, or tape them directly onto walls. You can also create a striking shamrock wreath by gluing them onto a cardboard ring.

  5. On white cardstock, use green markers or paint to write "Happy St. Patrick's Day," "Feeling Lucky," or "Éirigh Suas (Get Up)."
Cut out the letters or phrases. You can then adhere them to a piece of gold cardstock for a contrasting border.
Alternatively, use gold cardstock to cut out large, festive letters that spell out "LUCKY" or "LUCK."
These signs can be displayed on tables, hung on doors, or incorporated into your balloon arrangements.

  6. If using small potted plants, arrange them on tables or shelves. Tuck small shamrock cutouts into the soil for an added festive touch.
Drape fairy lights around your balloon garland, weave them through streamer curtains, or place them strategically around the room to add a magical glow.

Notes

Store deflated balloons in airtight bags. Streamers should be stored loosely rolled. Glittered items should be stored flat and dry.
