Method
- In a very large bowl, combine the Rice Chex, Corn Chex, Wheat Chex, and pretzel twists. Gently toss them together to ensure an even distribution. If you are using chopped nuts, add them to this mixture now.3 cups Rice Chex cereal, 3 cups Corn Chex cereal, 3 cups Wheat Chex cereal, 2 cups pretzel twists, 1/4 cup chopped nuts
- Place the white chocolate chips in a microwave-safe bowl. Microwave on 50% power in 30-second intervals, stirring after each interval, until smooth and completely melted. Be careful not to overheat.1 cup white chocolate chips
- Pour the melted white chocolate over the cereal and pretzel mixture. Gently stir with a large spatula or your hands (lightly greased to prevent sticking) until everything is evenly coated.
- While the white chocolate is still wet, sprinkle in the Valentine's Day candy-coated chocolates, crumbled freeze-dried strawberries, and pink sprinkles. If you're using marshmallows, add them now as well. Toss gently again to distribute these delightful additions.1 cup Valentine's Day candy-coated chocolates, 1/4 cup freeze-dried strawberries, crumbled, 1/4 cup pink sprinkles, 1/4 cup mini marshmallows
- In a separate microwave-safe bowl, melt the strawberry or pink candy melts using the same method as the white chocolate (50% power, 30-second intervals, stirring in between, until smooth).1/2 cup strawberry-flavored candy melts
- Once melted, drizzle the strawberry candy melts over the entire Chex mix. You can use a spoon or a piping bag with the tip cut off for a more controlled drizzle. Aim for a whimsical, decorative look.
- Spread the Chex mix in a single layer on a large baking sheet lined with parchment paper or wax paper. Allow it to cool completely at room temperature for at least 30 minutes, or until the chocolate is set and hardened. This is crucial for achieving the perfect crunch.
- Once fully hardened, break the Strawberry Valentine's Chex Mix into clusters or individual pieces as desired.
