Ingredients
  

  • 1 pound Lean Ground Turkey or Chicken
  • 1 cup Cooked Brown Rice
  • 1 cup Cooked Sweet Potato, mashed
  • 1/2 cup Cooked Carrots, finely chopped
  • 1/2 cup Cooked Peas
  • 1/4 cup Cooked Kale, finely chopped
  • 1 Tablespoon Olive Oil (optional)

Method
 

  1. In a skillet over medium heat, cook the ground turkey or chicken until no pink remains. Drain off any excess fat.

  2. Add the browned meat, cooked brown rice, mashed sweet potato, chopped carrots, peas, and finely chopped kale to your slow cooker. If using, drizzle in the olive oil.

  3. Stir everything together gently. Cover the slow cooker and cook on the low setting for 4-6 hours, or until all ingredients are thoroughly heated and well combined. The texture should be soft and easily mashable.
  4. Once cooked, remove the slow cooker from the heat. Allow the dog food to cool completely before serving. You can mash it slightly with a fork if your dog prefers a softer consistency.

Notes

Consult your veterinarian before introducing new food, especially for puppies or dogs with health conditions. Store in airtight containers in the refrigerator for 3-4 days, or freeze for up to 2-3 months. Never reheat food more than once.
