Ingredients
  

  • 1 cup Cooked Sweet Potato (Mashed)
  • 2 slices Cooked Bacon (Crumbled) Ensure it's cooked thoroughly and cooled before use.
  • 1/4 cup Unsweetened Applesauce
  • 1 Egg
  • 1/2 cup Whole Wheat Flour (or Oat Flour for gluten-sensitive dogs)
  • 1/4 cup Cooked Oatmeal (Plain, Unsweetened)

Method
 

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper for easy cleanup.
  2. In a medium bowl, combine the mashed sweet potato, unsweetened applesauce, and the egg. Mix thoroughly until smooth.

  3. Gradually whisk in the whole wheat flour (or oat flour) until just combined. Be careful not to overmix.

  4. Gently fold in the crumbled cooked bacon and the plain cooked oatmeal until evenly distributed throughout the dough. The dough should be thick and slightly sticky.
    2 slices Cooked Bacon (Crumbled), 1/4 cup Cooked Oatmeal (Plain, Unsweetened)
  5. Drop rounded spoonfuls of the dough onto the prepared baking sheet, about 1 inch apart. You can gently flatten them with the back of the spoon if desired.
  6. Bake for 15-20 minutes, or until the edges of the treats are golden brown and they feel firm to the touch.
  7. Remove the treats from the oven and let them cool completely on a wire rack before serving them to your dog.

Notes

Store cooled treats in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 5-7 days. For longer storage, freeze for up to 2-3 months. Feed in moderation.
