Ingredients

For the Peach Simple Syrup
  • 1 cup Water
  • 1 cup Granulated Sugar
  • 3 large Ripe Peaches Peeled and roughly chopped
For the Lemonade
  • 1.5 cup Fresh Lemon Juice Approximately 6-8 lemons
  • 4 cups Cold Water Or sparkling water for fizz
  • 1 batch Peach Simple Syrup Cooled
  • To taste Ice

Method

Instructions
  1. Prepare the Peach Simple Syrup: Combine 1 cup water, 1 cup sugar, and chopped peaches in a small saucepan.
  2. Bring the mixture to a gentle simmer over medium heat, stirring until the sugar is completely dissolved. Reduce heat to low and let it steep for 5 minutes.
  3. Remove the syrup from the heat and allow the peaches to infuse for an additional 5-10 minutes. Strain the syrup through a fine-mesh sieve into a jar, pressing gently on the solids to extract all liquid. Discard solids and let the syrup cool completely.
  4. Prepare the Lemonade Base: In a large pitcher, combine the freshly squeezed lemon juice and 4 cups of cold water.
  5. Whisk in 1 cup of the cooled peach simple syrup. Taste and add more syrup as needed to achieve the desired balance of sweet and tart.
  6. To serve, fill glasses with ice. Pour the lemonade over the ice. Garnish with thin lemon slices or fresh peach wedges, if desired.

Notes

For an adult version, add 1 ounce of vodka or white rum per glass before serving. The syrup can be made up to one week in advance and stored in the refrigerator.
