Ingredients

For the Peach Simple Syrup
  • 1 cup Water
  • 1 cup Granulated Sugar
  • 3 medium Ripe Peaches Peeled, pitted, and roughly chopped
For the Lemonade
  • 1 1/2 cups Freshly Squeezed Lemon Juice About 6-8 lemons
  • 3 cups Cold Water Adjust to taste
  • 1/2 cup Peach Simple Syrup Or more, to taste
  • 3 cups Ice Cubes
  • 1/4 cup Peach Slices For garnish

Method

Instructions
  1. Prepare the Peach Simple Syrup: Combine the 1 cup of water, 1 cup of sugar, and chopped peaches in a small saucepan.
  2. Bring the mixture to a simmer over medium heat, stirring until the sugar is completely dissolved. Reduce heat to low and let it steep for 5 minutes, allowing the peaches to soften and flavor the syrup.
  3. Remove the syrup from the heat. Allow it to cool for 5 minutes, then strain the liquid through a fine-mesh sieve into a bowl, pressing gently on the solids to extract all liquid. Discard the solids and let the syrup cool completely.
  4. Combine Ingredients: In a large pitcher, combine the freshly squeezed lemon juice, 3 cups of cold water, and 1/2 cup of the cooled peach simple syrup. Stir well to fully incorporate.
  5. Taste and Adjust: Taste the lemonade and adjust the sweetness by adding more peach simple syrup, or adjust the tartness by adding a splash more water or lemon juice as desired.
  6. Chill and Serve: Add plenty of ice cubes to the pitcher. Stir one last time. Serve immediately over fresh ice, garnished with thin slices of fresh peach or a lemon wheel.

Notes

For an extra bubbly drink, replace 1 cup of the cold water with club soda or sparkling water just before serving. The peach simple syrup can be made up to a week in advance and stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator.
