  • 6 cups chicken broth
  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 2 large onions diced
  • 4 stalks celery chopped
Variation Add-ins
  • 1 lb Italian sausage optional
  • 1 cup dried cranberries optional
  • 1 cup chopped pecans optional
  • 2 Granny Smith apples diced, optional

Method
 

  1. Heat butter in a large skillet over medium heat. Add diced onions and celery, cooking for 5-7 minutes until softened.

  2. Add your chosen protein or flavor elements (sausage, mushrooms, etc.) and cook according to variation instructions.

  3. Pour in chicken broth and bring to a gentle boil. Season with salt and pepper.
