- In a medium saucepan, combine 1 cup of uncooked white rice with ½ cup of water. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat to low, cover, and simmer for approximately 15-20 minutes, or until the water is absorbed and the rice is tender. Set aside.1 cup Uncooked White Rice, ½ cup Water (for cooking rice)
- While the rice is cooking, place 1 lb of ground turkey in a large skillet over medium heat. Break up the turkey with a spoon and cook until it is thoroughly browned and no pink remains, about 8-10 minutes. Drain off any excess grease.1 lb Ground Turkey
- To the skillet with the cooked turkey, add the chopped carrots, trimmed and chopped green beans, and peas. Stir well to combine with the turkey.1 cup Chopped Carrots, ½ cup Cooked Green Beans (trimmed and chopped), ¼ cup Cooked Peas
- Add 1 tablespoon of olive oil to the skillet. Continue to cook over medium-low heat, stirring occasionally, for another 5-7 minutes, or until the carrots are tender-crisp and the vegetables are heated through.1 tbsp Olive Oil
- Once the rice is cooked and the turkey and vegetable mixture is ready, gently combine them in the skillet or a large mixing bowl. Stir until all ingredients are evenly distributed.
- Allow the mixture to cool completely before serving to your dog. This is crucial to prevent burns.
Notes
