Chilling Time 15 minutes
Total Time 45 minutes
Servings: 12 pops
Course: Dessert, Snack

Ingredients

  • 1 package Oreo cookies approx. 12-14
  • 10-12 ounces white chocolate melting wafers or good quality white candy melts
  • 1 batch Red, pink, and white sprinkles Valentine's themed preferred
  • Optional Red or pink food coloring oil-based recommended for candy melts
  • Optional Edible glitter for extra sparkle
  • 12-14 lollipop sticks or craft sticks

Equipment

  • Microwave-safe bowl
  • Baking sheet or tray
  • Parchment paper or wax paper
  • Spoon or small spatula
  • Toothpick (optional)

Method

  1. Line a baking sheet or tray with parchment paper or wax paper. This will prevent the finished Oreo pops from sticking. Have your sprinkles, edible glitter (if using), and lollipop sticks readily accessible.
1 batch Red, pink, and white sprinkles, Optional Edible glitter, 12-14 lollipop sticks or craft sticks
  2. Place your white chocolate melting wafers (or candy melts) in a microwave-safe bowl. Microwave in 30-second intervals, stirring well after each interval, until the chocolate is completely smooth and melted. Be careful not to overheat, as this can cause the chocolate to seize. If you're using food coloring, add a few drops of red or pink oil-based coloring to a portion of the melted white chocolate and stir until the desired shade is achieved. You can leave some white for contrast.
10-12 ounces white chocolate melting wafers, Optional Red or pink food coloring
  3. Carefully dip each Oreo cookie into the melted white chocolate, ensuring it's fully coated. You can use a spoon or a small spatula to help spread the chocolate evenly and cover any missed spots. For an extra smooth coating, you can gently tap the cookie against the side of the bowl to allow excess chocolate to drip off.
1 package Oreo cookies, 10-12 ounces white chocolate melting wafers
  4. While the chocolate coating is still wet, gently insert a lollipop stick into the cream filling of each Oreo. Press it in about halfway, ensuring it's secure but not so deep that it goes through the other side.
12-14 lollipop sticks or craft sticks
  5. Immediately after inserting the stick, while the chocolate is still wet, generously sprinkle your Valentine's themed sprinkles and edible glitter over the coated Oreo. Work quickly, as the chocolate will start to set. If you're creating marbled or swirled effects, you can use a toothpick to gently swirl the different colored chocolates together before adding sprinkles.
1 batch Red, pink, and white sprinkles, Optional Edible glitter
  6. Carefully transfer the decorated Oreo pops to the prepared baking sheet. Place the baking sheet in the refrigerator for about 15-20 minutes, or until the chocolate coating has hardened completely.
  7. If you prefer a thicker chocolate coating or want to add a contrasting color drizzle, once the first layer is set, you can re-melt any remaining chocolate and dip the pops again, or use a spoon to drizzle contrasting colors over the set coating. Add more sprinkles or glitter after the second dip if desired. Chill again until firm.
