Ingredients

Main Ingredients
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 packet taco seasoning
  • 1/2 cup water
  • individual bags of Doritos or Fritos one per person
Toppings
  • shredded lettuce to taste
  • shredded cheddar cheese to taste
  • diced tomatoes to taste
  • sour cream to taste
  • salsa to taste
  • diced onions to taste
  • jalapeños optional, to taste

Equipment

  • Large skillet

Method

  1. In a large skillet, brown the ground beef over medium-high heat. Drain any excess grease.
  2. Add taco seasoning and water to the beef. Bring to a simmer and cook for 5–7 minutes until thickened.
  3. Gently crush chips inside each individual bag – don’t pulverize them.
  4. Open each chip bag along the long side. Add a scoop of the seasoned beef.
  5. Top with your favorite toppings: lettuce, cheese, tomatoes, sour cream, salsa, onions, and jalapeños.
  6. Serve immediately with a fork. Eat straight from the bag for easy cleanup.

Notes

Customize your Walking Tacos with black beans, corn, olives, or hot sauce for extra flavor. Ground beef can be prepped ahead and stored for 3 days in the fridge.
