Ingredients
  

  • 1 pound Lean ground turkey Cooked
  • 1 cup Cooked brown rice Cooked
  • 1/2 cup Cooked sweet potato Cooked and mashed
  • 1/4 cup Cooked carrots Steamed or boiled until tender and finely chopped
  • 1/4 cup Cooked green beans Steamed or boiled until tender and chopped
  • 1 tablespoon Unsalted, plain pumpkin purée Unsweetened
  • 1 tablespoon Ground flaxseed Ground
  • 1 teaspoon Salmon oil Optional, but highly recommended
  • small pinch Dried parsley For freshness and mild breath-freshening

Method
 

  1. In separate pots, cook one pound of lean ground turkey until thoroughly browned and no pink remains. Simultaneously, cook one cup of brown rice according to package directions.

  2. Steam or boil carrots and green beans until fork-tender. Once cooled slightly, finely chop them into small, manageable pieces suitable for your dog's chewing ability.

  3. Bake or boil a sweet potato until very soft. Mash it thoroughly with a fork until smooth.

  4. In a large mixing bowl, combine the cooked ground turkey (drained of excess fat), cooked brown rice, mashed sweet potato, chopped carrots, chopped green beans, unsweetened pumpkin purée, and ground flaxseed.

  5. If using, drizzle one tablespoon of salmon oil over the mixture.

  6. Add the small pinch of dried parsley. Gently mix all ingredients together until well combined.

  7. Allow the mixture to cool completely before serving to your dog.

Notes

Consult with your veterinarian before introducing any new food to your dog's diet, especially if they have allergies, sensitivities, or health conditions. Puppies may require calcium supplementation. Adjust portion sizes based on your dog's individual needs.
